2. Scope

The Site is currently a static marketing site. The developer-preview waitlist formats a message for your email app rather than collecting submissions through a server-side form in this repository. If you send the email, your message is delivered through your email provider and our email systems.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

3. Notice at collection

We collect contact and identity information, professional and context information, message content, communications metadata, and Site and technical information as described below. We use those categories to evaluate preview requests, respond to you, send preview or product updates, operate and protect the Site, maintain business and compliance records, and comply with law.

We do not sell waitlist personal information or use the current Site for targeted advertising. We retain information while needed for the waitlist or product relationship and then as needed for legal, compliance, security, suppression-list, or business-record purposes. The sections below provide more detail about categories, sources, purposes, disclosures, retention, rights, and choices.

4. Information we collect

Please do not submit source code, repository URLs containing private code, credentials, API keys, access tokens, secrets, confidential business information, trade secrets, regulated personal information, health information, payment-card data, government identifiers, or other sensitive information through the waitlist form or waitlist email unless we have signed a separate written agreement authorizing that submission.

5. How we use information

We use information submitted through or related to the Site to:

• evaluate developer-preview requests;
• contact you about preview access;
• send Gent preview or product updates and related communications;
• respond to questions or requests;
• improve Site content, messaging, and waitlist operations;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the Site and communications;
• comply with law, legal process, enforce rights, and prevent abuse; and
• maintain business, compliance, suppression, and security records.

6. How we disclose information

We may disclose Site and waitlist information:

• to service providers for email, hosting, DNS/CDN, security, business tools, analytics if added later, and other operational tools;
• to professional advisers, such as lawyers, auditors, accountants, or insurers;
• to legal, compliance, or safety recipients where needed;
• to counterparties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction; or
• with your consent or at your direction.

Service providers are expected to use personal information only as needed to provide services to us or as otherwise permitted by law.

7. No sale, no targeted advertising, and no model training

We do not sell waitlist personal information. As of the Last Updated date, the Site does not disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We do not intentionally use waitlist submissions to train Gent or third-party AI or machine-learning models.

Routine spam, abuse, safety, security, email filtering, or service-improvement processing by email and infrastructure providers may occur under their applicable terms and settings. If these practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice or consent required by applicable law before using previously collected personal information for materially broader purposes.

8. Cookies, analytics, tracking, Do Not Track, and opt-out preference signals

As of the Last Updated date, the Site code reviewed for this policy does not set analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or local/session storage for tracking, and does not include third-party analytics tags. Our hosting, DNS, CDN, security, and email providers may still process technical information such as IP addresses, device/browser information, logs, and email metadata to provide and protect their services.

Because the current Site does not engage in cross-site tracking for targeted advertising or sale of personal information, browser "Do Not Track" signals or opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control do not change the Site's behavior. If we later engage in sale, targeted advertising, or other processing that requires an opt-out mechanism, we will update this Privacy Policy and honor legally required opt-out preference signals.

We do not knowingly allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites or online services through the current Site for targeted advertising.

9. Product updates and marketing email choices

If you join the waitlist or contact us, we may send you emails about preview access, Gent product updates, and related Gent offerings. You can opt out of marketing emails by using unsubscribe instructions included in those emails or by contacting us at legal@genaptic.com.

We may still send non-marketing, administrative, or legally required messages where permitted by law. Marketing emails will identify Genaptic or Gent as the sender, use accurate header and subject information, include a valid physical postal address or legally permitted mailbox where required, and include a clear way to opt out.

10. Retention

We retain Site and waitlist information for as long as reasonably necessary to manage preview requests, communicate about Gent, operate and protect the Site, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain suppression lists, and keep legitimate business records. We may delete, deidentify, or archive information when it is no longer needed for these purposes.

We may retain limited records after you opt out where needed for compliance, suppression, security, or business-record purposes.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No website, email system, provider, or transmission method is completely secure, so please use care when deciding what information to send to us.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and whether applicable legal thresholds are met, you may have rights to request that we confirm whether we process your personal information, access it, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, opt out of certain processing, designate an authorized agent, or appeal a decision we make about your request.

You may submit requests by emailing legal@genaptic.com. We may need to verify your request, confirm your authority to act for someone else, and retain information where permitted or required for legal, security, compliance, suppression-list, or business-record purposes. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

13. Children

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to join the waitlist. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 through the Site, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

14. International visitors

Gent is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those jurisdictions may differ from those in your location.

If privacy laws in your location grant you rights not described here, you may contact us at legal@genaptic.com, and we will respond as required by applicable law.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice, such as by posting a notice on the Site or emailing users who have provided contact information, where appropriate.

We will not use a Privacy Policy update to retroactively apply materially broader data practices to information already collected unless we provide any notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law.
